Construction / Working of Industrial Ribbon Blender Machine

Construction
The Industrial Ribbon Blender Machine comprises a “U” tank, shaft with two sets of spiral ribbons, one inside the other. Inner and outer ribbons are perfectly arranged for the material reaching each corner of the trough and provides radial and linear motion to the material to be mixed during rotation. 

Ribbon blender’s horizontal u-shaped trough and specifically designed double helical fabricated ribbon agitator rotating within has proven agitator construction that provides a triple mixing action ensuring fast, efficient blending. The pitch of the outer ribbon moves the material towards the discharge opening. The inner ribbon which has an opposing pitch moves the material away from the discharge opening. The dimensions and configuration of the ribbons are imprudently balanced to provide a movement of material within the container that shuns dead spots and gives rapid product discharge.

Operation / Working
First approximately two thirds of the volume of the container of Ribbon Blender is filled to ensure proper mixing. Blending materials are charged from the top side. The discharge height could be adjusted as per the requirement, so that material gets discharged in the other container directly, so that material handling time for discharge is nil and the operation is dust free. There are ports provided on the top cover to charge the material as well as for the air vent and one discharge valve provided at the bottom side at the centre of the container. Moreover, by means of scrapers or drop bottom discharge, the quantity of material left over between batches is minimized, reducing the chance for bacterial growth.
